Complete Urban Solutions
Meeting National food waste recycling targets
Reducing and reusing food waste is a key strategy in addressing food security vulnerabilities. However in Singapore, of the 703,200 tonnes of food waste generated in 2012, only 12% were recycled where most of which was converted into animal feed. This is below the national target of 30% and far below that of food waste recycling levels in Japan and Korea, reported to be 70% and 81% respectively.
Meeting food security targets
There are strong demand for organic fertiliser and soil recycling from Singapore farms. Sky Greens soil and food waste recycling system features shorter processing time, lower energy usage and more cost efficiency. This system is part of our effort to provide a whole repertoire of complete urban solutions and enable cities to self-sustain an urban farming ecology with minimum reliance on imported fertilisers and resources.
